Why Pay More than You Should?

Did you know that most electric utilities have demand based rates for their commercial clients.  With these rates and our technology, you can save money on your electricity bills for your business, and even your church or synagogue.  In many cases, commercial clients can save substantially with our technology without changing rates.

If the average monthly electricity bills for your home are $140 per month or more, or if your business or church has an electricity bill over $1000 per month, contact us at Alltrades2000@aol.com, or call

SAVING MONEY THROUGH ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Residential Users

Many people with medium to large homes, with monthly electricity bills averaging over $140 are paying a much higher price than they need to for their electricity.  You can save 20-40% on those electricity bills by switching to an alternative rate and utilizing ENERGY SENTRY®  technology.  The alternative rate is available from Virginia Power, North Carolina Power, Carolina Power and Light and Arizona Public Service.

Commercial and Church Users

Many small to medium companies are not on the most advantageous rate.  A major part of the electricity bill for most commercial and church rates is not based upon the amount of kilowatt-hours you consume but is based on the highest demand peak you reached during the month.  In some rates, it is based upon the highest demand peak you reached anytime during the last year.  That means, if you reach a very high demand peak in July or January, you will continue to pay for that peak in every month for twelve months thereafter.

WHAT IS THE DEMAND PEAK?

The demand peak is caused by the simultaneous operation of equipment.  Most of the time, this is caused by the random and unnecessary operation of background loads.  The  ENERGY SENTRY®  manages this process in a seamless and unintrusive way, under your total control.  It is preprogrammed for you to provide savings without inconveniences, impact on operations or discomfort for customers or employees.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

These power companies have a little known electric rate called a Demand based Time-of-Use (TOU) rate.  When used in conjunction with ENERGY SENTRY®  technology, you can and will experience savings on your electric bill of 20-40% per month.

If your electricity bills are less than $140 for your home or less than $1000 for your business, here are some other alternatives for saving money on your energy consumption.

ENERGY SAVING IDEAS

WATER HEATER:  Turn your water heater down to 120-140 degrees or visit our home page at www.alltradesoftidewater.com, for information on saving up to 23% on your power bills using our new Tankless Hot Water Heater Technology.

WINDOWS AND DOORS:  Caulk all windows and doors and/or use weatherstripping.  Use draft guards for doors to unheated areas and outside doors.

INSULATION:  Insulate in attic and under house where the house has a crawl space.  Lay a vapor barrier on the ground in the crawl space to reduce humidity.

WINDOWS:  Replace single pane windows with double pane or add storm windows.

HEAT PUMPS:  If you have heat pumps, it is more economical to leave your thermostats at your desired temperature.  Turning the thermostat down in the heat mode, then up, may cause the auxiliary heat strips to come on.  This is a very expensive way to heat your house.  Always use qualified service contractors to work on your equipment.  Check all joints of your duct systems for leaks.  Over time, duct tape comes loose or develops leaks.

APPLIANCES:  Replace older appliances with more energy efficient models.  Check with your power company about special low interest financing of energy efficient replacement equipment.

LIGHT SWITCH AND RECEPTACLE GASKETS:  Add inexpensive gaskets under all light switch and receptacle plates.  This prevents drafts and air intrusion from entering into your house.

AIR FILTERS:  Clean or replace air filters at least on a monthly basis.

SOUTHERN EXPOSURES:  During the summer, use drapes or window film to block the sun thus reducing excessive heat generation.  In the winter, utilize the Southern exposure to help heat your house.

NEW HOMES:  If you are building a new house, remember to minimize the number and size of windows on the North side of the house.  Glass is a very poor insulator.

CEILING FANS:  In the winter, fans bring the higher, warmer air lower to the living area.  In the summer, fans continually move the air.  Moving air feels cooler.  This allows thermostats to be set at a higher temperature and still maintain comfort.

LIGHTING:  Replace light bulbs with newer, energy efficient type.

FAUCETS:  Fix all leaking faucets with new gaskets and use aerators.

WASHING CLOTHES:  Wash clothes in cold water, if possible, or reduce water temperature.  Rinse in cold water.

HAND WASHING DISHES:  Wash in a container.  Do not continually run water when washing.

SHOWERS:  Limit showers to a reasonable time and use low flow showerheads.

TOILETS:  Replace older toilets with more efficient low volume flush models.

BRUSHING TEETH OR SHAVING:  Do not continually run water while brushing your teeth or shaving.

EXHAUST FANS:  Minimize use of exhaust fans in the winter to avoid blowing warm air from the house to the outside.

HEATING AND COOLING REGISTERS:  Check all registers and avoid having furniture or drapes blocking the flow of air.

WINDOW AIR CONDITIONERS:  Install air conditioner covers during the winter.
